MIDVALE - Strasburg (1-0) and Midvale (1-1) hooked up in a real thriller here Saturday night and when the fury had subsided, the Tigers had a hard-earned victory.  The nod is the 3rd straight for Strasburg over Midvale as last year's Tigers won 68-56 and 84-71.  Balance was the forte of both teams with each placing 4 men in 2 digits.  All-County performer John Peters paced the Bob Shahan-coached Tigers with 22 points.  Don Wallick added 17, Vic Gessner 16 and Rock Van Fossen 13.  Dean DeMattio, another All-County cager, topped the Pete Hilliard-coached Blue Devils with 16 markers.  Dan  Kohler put in 15, Ted Tolloti 13, and Terry Leggett 11.  Strasburg led most of the time, but its biggest margin was 8 points in the 2nd stanza.  Strasburg actually won at the free throw lines, sinking 18 of 22, while Midvale was canning 6 of 12.  From action, the visitors meshed 23 of 59 for 38 percent and the hosts 30 of 77 for 39 percent.  Midvale led in rebounds, 38 to 27, with DeMattio doing  most of the work.  In the Reserve game, Strasburg (1-0) started the sweep of Midvale (0-2) with a 42-31 triumph.
