ZOARVILLE - Gary Ferren, 6-5 Senior, returned to the lineup after missing 3 games because of infected tonsils to lead the Ken Gold-coached Tuscarawas Valley Trojans (3-1) (4-6) to victory. Ferren, who reportedly will miss the next 3 weeks of action because of the same trouble, popped in 20 points to take game honors. "I regret the high score," Gold said, "but most of my substitutes played 4 quarters of Reserve ball." Ferren said: "It was a great team effort." Dave Widder backed up Ferren with 16 markers. Teammate Gary Adams had 15 and Ron Wolfe and Bob Burris 12 each. Phil Caldwell had 13 and Roger Knisely 12 for the Broncos of coach Dick Ronald. Tuscarawas Valley pulled off several steals in the final frame for easy buckets. The Trojans made 38 of 75 action shots for 51 percent and the Broncos canned 18 of 56 for 32 percent. Tuscarawas Valley hit on 11 of 19 free throws and Tuscarawas sank 11 of 24. The Reserve game score was not report, nor the winner.
