64 - Stone Creek Slides Past Warsaw 75-68 (11-30-63)

WARSAW - Stone Creek's Panthers (3-1) bounced back here Saturday night to whip Warsaw in their fourth 1963-64 basketball outing.  The Charles Huggins-coached Panthers won their first 2, but dropped a 73-56 verdict to Newcomerstown Friday.  Stone Creek was ahead all the way, by as much as 21 points at one time, but had to stave off a late rally to emerge victorious.  The hosts cut the deficit to 9 points, 68-59, with 3:30 left in the game, but couldn't keep their momentum.  The Panthers hit on 23 of 46 action shots for a fine 50 percent and made 29 of 47 free throws, actually winning the game at the foul lines.  Warsaw canned as many field goals, 23 of 75 for 30.7 percent, but tossed in just 22 free throws in 38 tries.  John Flinner zeroed in on the hoops for 27 points, the highest Panther output in at least 2 years.  Dick McPherson tossed in 16 and Vic Turner 10.  McPherson led in rebounds with 10.  Endlich also did a good job on the boards.  The Warsaw Reserves upended the Stone Creek Reserves (3-1) 44-37.
