64 - Midvale Subdues Augusta 89-55 (12-27-63)




MIDVALE - The tough Midvale Blue Devils (8-1) had little trouble here Friday night as they subdued Augusta.  The Blue Devils trailed just once, 6-5, early in the game.  A tight defense kept the visitors off guard all night.  Midvale was led in the point department by high-scoring Dean DeMattio who got 27.  Dan Kohler added 20 and Don Ickes 12.  Carl Michaels had 15, Bob Gary 14 and Terry Locke 10 for Augusta.  Midvale canned 34 of 72 action shots for a fine 49 percent and made 21 of 26 free throws.  Augusta netted 24 of 55 from the floor and 7 of 11 charities.  Ickes led the board work for the Pete Hilliardmen with 15 grabs.  DeMattio hauled in 12.  Midvale (3-3) picked up the Reserve win by blasting the Augusta Reserves 86-31.
