64 - Three Rivers Trims Garaway 62-61 (1-4-64)




KEENE - Garaway's Pirates (5-4) outgoaled the Three Rivers Patriots by 4 here Saturday night, but still lost the basketball game.  The Pirates led at the first 2 stops, but fell behind 48-42 going into the final frame and never could catch up.  Garaway made 37 percent of its action shots and sank 13 of 21 charities.  Three Rivers canned 47 percent from  the floor and  drilled in 22 of 28 fouls.  The Pirates led in rebounds, 41 to 36, with Don Andreas pulling down 9 and Randy Miller and Tim Stevanus grabbing 8 each.  "This was our best team effort thus far," Pirate Coach Glenn Snyder said.  For Three Rivers, Stewart scored 28 points, with McMillen getting 16 and Hardesty 11.  Four players hit double figures for TV.  Don Deetz led the way with 16 points.  Don Andreas, John Spear and Jim Young followed with 12,11 and 10.  The Three Rivers Reserves had no trouble bringing down the Garaway Reserves (1-6) 39-28.
