64 - Down The Line With Dan Kopp

DOVER - Tuscarawas Valley, we found, did not set a school record Friday in beating Baltic 99-46.  A letter from a graduate of Tuscarawas Valley set us to the "morgue" where we found the 1956-57 Trojans went over the 100-point level twice.  That was the 1st year of the consolidation of Mineral City and Bolivar and the coach was Raymond (Sucker) Low.  Getting back to the business at hand, Ben  Price and company that season tallied 105 points to 40 for Dundee January 15 and marked up 107 to 48 for Dundee February 1.  As far as we could determine, the 107 total is the school record.  We're sorry the mistake was made, but at the same time thankful to the reader who started us on the search.  Thisis the only way we'll be able to get our records up to date.

In years gone by, the captain of the team receive any "charity" and would get the points.  But not any more.  The  points merely go toward the team's total.  And the "wrong-way" player does NOT get credit for the points on his total.
