64 - Port Washington Falters At Malvern 67-44 (1-24-64)




MALVERN - The Malvern Green Hornets (4-9) avenged an early season 65-39 defeat to Port Washington (3-9) by taking a decision here Friday night.  The Hornets now have won 3 of their last 4 games.  Port Washington led 29-26 at halftime, but fell by the wayside afterwards at the home of the Malvern Green Hornets.  Malvern outscored Port 21 to 3 in the fateful 3rd stanza to break the game open.  Jim Montella paced Malvern with 25 points for Coach Joe Deckman's Hornets.  Hank Bennett added 14.  Ken Gay, Jim Bates and Bob Casteel all  popped in 10 for the Purple Riders of Coach Don Durham.  The Malvern Reserves also won their game 32-29 against the Port Washington Reserves (3-7).
