64 - Port Washington Wins Baseball Fall Title
PORT WINS 16-8 IN DIAMOND PLAY: Stone Creek - The smallest TuscarawasCounty Class A Baseball League in memory opened its fall season here Tuesday, Port Washington downing Stone Creek 16-8. Baltic is the only other county school fielding a diamond team this fall, all others participating in football. Monday, September 11, 1963.
PORT IS UNBEATEN IN BASEBALL PLAY: Port Washington - The Purple Riders of Port Washington defeated in fall County League baseball play this week with a 4-3 win over Stone Creek. Ken Gay hurled the victory, permitting only 5 hits. John Feller was the loser,allowing 9 safeties. Diebel had a Home Run for Stone Creek. Friday, September 20, 1963.
PORT ANNEXES TITLE ON 3-0 MARK: Port Washington - The Purple Riders of Port Washington reign as champions of the Tuscarawas County Class A Fall Baseball League. Port clinched the title with a 14-3 triumph over Baltic Thursday.
