64 - Sandy Valley Slams Tusky Valley 81-49 (1-4-64)
SANDYVILLE - Tuscarawas Valley (3-6) again played without 6-5 Gary Ferren who is ill and fell to Sandy Valley (6-1) here Saturday night. Ferren's absence is important not only beause he is a good scorer, but a top-notch rebounder. Gary Adams pulled down just 5 rebounds here Saturday, but led the Ken Gold-coached Trojans in that department. Tuscarawas Valley canned 20 of 65 from the floor and 9 of 19 fouls. Sandy Valley took just 55 action shots, but made 35. The Cardinals sank 11 of 30 charities. Sandy Valley used a zone defense and led all the way, holding 13-3, 40-17 and 60-29 quarter margins. Adams was top point-maker for the Trojans with 18. Paul Shipbaugh added 12. Gary Provance tossed in 24 to take honors for the Cardinals. The Sandy Valley Reserves didn't play around with the Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (1-7) either when they dropped them 59-19.
