PORT WASHINGTON - Tuscarawas (2-3) (6-5) went above the .500 mark with the victory at Port Washington (2-4) (3-8).  The Dick Ronald-coached Broncos had to battle from behind, as the Purple Riders of Coach Don Durham held a 9-6 advantage at the 1st stop.  In fact, the game was nip-and-tuck all the way, with the Broncos holding a 27-21 margin at intermission and leading 40-37 going into the final frame.  It wasn't until mid-way in the 4th quarter that Tuscarawas was able to pull away.  The Broncos controlled both boards, limiting the Purple Riders to but one shot most of the time.  A tight man-to-man defense proved effective for Tuscarawas.  Russ McGlothlin and Phil Caldwell led the way for the Broncos with 21 and 17 points respectively.  Leading the Purple Riders was Ken Gay with 20 points and the only player in double figures.  The Tusky Reserves (9-1) torn into the Port Washington Reserves (3-6) 56-39.
