64 - Stone Creek Mugs Tusky 60-58 (1-25-64)

TUSCARAWAS - Hot shooting and a tight pressing defense in the last quarter sparked Stone Creek (8-6) to a victory over Tuscarawas (7-7) here Saturday night.  The Panthers, trailing 36-28 at the half and 51-45 going into the final frame after a 14-14 1st period tie, force the Broncos into committing several turnovers in the 4th quarter.  Tuscarawas actually had a higher shooting percentage than Stone Creek, but the Panthers got 6 more attempts and made one  more.  Stone Creek popped in 26 of 56 action shots for 46 percent and made 8 of 13 charities.  Tuscarawas was 25 of 50 for 50 percent and 8 of 11.  This makes the second time this season Stone Creek has beaten Tuscarawas by 2 points, having  posted a 48-46 triumph January 3.  The Broncos outrebounded the Panthers 25 to 18, with Russ McGlothlin pulling down 11.  John Flinner led Stone Creek in the point department with 16.  Dick McPherson added 15, Verle Endlich got 13 and Jim Wherley 10.  Chuck Reichman  popped  in 17, McGlothlin 15 and Phil Caldwell 11 for Tuscarawas.  The Tuscarawas Reserves (11-2) fought back the Stone Creek Reserves (7-6) 36-31.
