64 - Tusky Beats Newcomerstown 65-56 On The Line (1-18-64)

NEWCOMERSTOWN - Tuscarawas (7-5) cashed in at the foul lines here Saturday night to turn back Newcomerstown (5-5).  The Broncos had 4 less field goals, but sank 19 of 28 charities, while the Trojans were sinking just 2 of only 6.  Tuscarawas fired in 47 percent of its action shots and Newcomerstown 35 percent.  The Broncos of Coach Dick Ronald controlled both boards, as the Trojans got but 15 rebounds.  Russ McGlothlin paced Tuscarawas with 21 points.  Phil  Caldwell had 20 and Roger Knisely 11.  Keith Stoffer was high for Newcomerstown with 19.  Dave Williams got 17 and John Hurst 10.  "That McGlothin is going to give many teams fits," Trojan boss John Haugh said of the finally healthy Bronco.  McGlothlin has been sidelined because of various ailments over the years.  The Newcomerstown Reserves handed the Tusky Reserves (9-2) their 2nd loss by a score of 51-44.
