64 - Midvale Crushes Port Washington 61-32 (12-6-63)

PORT WASHINGTON -  Ted Tolloti took game scoring honors to lead the Midvale (1-0) (2-1) attack with 16 points.  Dean DeMattio, last year's scoring champion, took a back seat this time with 12.  Dan Kohler also added 12.  Bob Casteel paced Port Washington (0-1) (1-4) with 11 markers.  The Blue Devils, coached by Pete Hilliard, sank 28 of 56 action shots for 48 percent and made 5 of 9 free tosses.  The Purple Riders, guided by Don Durham, hit on 11 of 54 from the floor for 20 percent and popped in 10 of 12 foul tries.  Midvale led 21-7, 33-11 and 43-22 at the stops.  The Devils outrebounded the  Purple Riders 45 to 23.  DeMattio was the big man, pulling down 15, getting able assistance from Don Ickes and Kohler.  Midvale committed just 6 turnovers in the great team effort.  No Reserve game was reported.
