64 - Port Washington Spanks Baltic 74-42 (12-13-63)

PORT WASHINGTON - The Purple Riders (1-1) (2-4) jumped out to an early 10-0 lead as they made their first 5 shots  They didn't cool off until the 3rd quarter.  Leonard Cameron paced the victory for the Don Durham-coached Purple Riders with 22 points.  Ken Gay popped in 20; although, sitting out 2 periods because of personal foul trouble.  Jeff Schlarb led the Eagles (0-2) (0-6) of Coach Stan Berkman with 14 markers.  Port Washington hit on 31 of 65 action shots for a hot 48 percent and made 12 of 24 foul tries.  Baltic canned 10 of 53 from the floor for 36 percent and meshed 4 of 10 free tosses.  The Purple Riders controlled both boards with Bob Casteel leading the way with 11 rebounds.  "We have shown a lot of improvement in the last 2 or 3 weeks," Durham said.  "We should hit our peak in the second half of the season."  The Port Washington Reserves (2-2) got back to .500 with the win against the Baltic Reserves (0-4) lowering the boom at 31-14.
