64 - Midvale Rolls At Tusky 86-62 (1-24-64)

TUSCARAWAS - A cold second stanza spelled defeat for Tuscarawas (3-4) (7-6). Behind just 15-11 at the 1st stop, the Brocos didn't get a field goal in the 2nd period until 1 second before intermission. Midvale (5-1) (12-3), meanwhile, was waxing hot and took a 40-23 margin into the lockerroom. After 3 quarters the Blue Devils led 64-42. Dan Kohler led the Pete Hilliard-coached Blue Devils with 28 points. Dean DeMattio got 21 and Tom McPherson 13. High for Tuscarawas, coached by Dick Ronald, were Phil Caldwell and Russ McGlothlin with 18 each. Midvale canned 35 of 63 action shots for a blistering 55 percent and connected on 16 of 29 foul tosses. Tuscarawas was 24 of 60 for 40 percent and 14 of 21. The Broncos outrebounded the Blue Devils 33 to 26 with McGlothlin hauling down 13. DeMattio grabbed 7 for Midvale. The Tuscarawas Reserves (10-2) edged the Midvale Reserves (7-5) 59-58.
