64 - Strasburg Rocks On At Stone Creek 83-58 (1-24-64)




STONE CREEK - Strasburg's tough Tigers (5-1) (12-1) came up with a big final quarter spurt to turn a close game into a runaway.  The Panthers (2-5) (7-6), heavy underdogs, fought galliantly and trailed just 14-12 at the 1st stop.  After leading 23-20 with 5 minutes to go in the 2nd stanza, the Panthers faltered and fell behind 33-28 at intermission.  Going into the last period Strasburg was in front 59-41.  John Peters "held" to 10 points through the first 2 periods, waxed hot in the 2nd half and ended with 30 for game honors.  Don Wallick got 19, Rick Hall 15 and Rock VanFossen 11.  John Flinner was high for StoneCreek  with 14 markers.  DickMcPherson  added 13 and  John Binarl 10.  The Tigers fired in 33 of 57 action shots for a burning 59 percent and sank 17 of 35 charities.  The Panthers were 21 of 36 for a hot 56 percent and 16 of 24.  Strasburg, bouncing back from last week's loss at Garaway and will go after another tonight at East Canton.  The Tigers are coached by Bob Shahan.  The Strasburg Reserves (12-1) also won their game by a score of 63-56 over the tough Stone Creek Reserves (7-5).
