SCIO - Board work was the main difference here Saturday night as the Pete Hillard-coached Midvale Blued Devils (7-1) tripped Scio. The win is the 7th of the season for the Blue Devils against only a 2-point loss to unbeaten powerhouse Strasburg (6-0). Midvale trailed 13-12 at the 1st stop, but went ahead early in the 2nd stanza and led 34-23 at intermission and 51-45 going into the final frame. The Blue Devils grabbed 38 rebounds to 25 for their hosts and hit on 27 of 56 action shots for 46 percent. Scio made 22 of 44 for 50 percent. From the foul lines, Midvale canned 11 of 14 and Scio 13 of 18. Dan Kohler led the victory with 25 points. Dean DeMattio added 20 and Tom McPherson 10. Rinkes and Bell led Scio with 24 and 22 points. No Reserve reported.
