64 - Port Washington Handles Gnaden 75-55 (1-10-64)

GNADENHUTTEN - A steady brand of ball paid dividends for the Port Washington Purple Riders (2-3) (3-7).  After the Indians (1-4) (2-10) had taken a 7-point margin at the 1st stop, the Purple Riders knotted the count by halftime and forged into a 47-40 lead going into the final frame.  Port Washington marked up 10 points in a row at one stretch of the 3rd quarter.  The winners outrebounded Gnadenhutten 51 to 25 with Jim Bates grabbing 15.  Bruce Kohl hauled down 11 for the Indians.  In shooting, Port Washington made 23 of 62 field goals for 37 percent and 25 of 38 charities and Gnadenhutten sank 16 of 48 for 33 percent and 23 of 32 respectively.  Port Washington snapped a 4-game losing streak with the victory.  Gnadenhutten has lost 8 straight.  Don Durham coaches the Purple Riders and Oren Thompson the Indians.  Ken Gay led the Purple Riders with 22 points.  Leonard Cameron added 19 and Bates 16.  Kohl  paced the Indians with 10.  In the Reserve game, Gnadenhutten (5-4) prevailed over Port Washington (3-5) 45-40.
