STRASBURG - The tough Tigers (2-0) (6-0) continue to get great balance, with several players capable of taking up any slack which might come about. John Peters, a sure bet to repeat his All-League status, again led the way with 19 points. He had able help from Don Wallick with 13, Rick Hall with 11 ad Ron Lab with 10. Ken Gay topped Port with 19 and Leonard Cameron pushed through 15. Strasburg started out with a full court press, but dropped back to a switching man-to-man which Port Washington couldn't master. The Purple Riders did manage to cut the margin to 9 points at one stage of the 3rd quarter, but the Tigers really began hitting from then on. The Bob Shahan-coached Tigers canned 30 of 72 action shots for a fine 42 percent and made 21 of 26 foul tries. The Purple Riders of Coach Don Durham meshed 17 of 50 from the floor for 33 percent and hit on 14 of 25 charities. Hall led all rebounders with 11. Peters hauled in 10. Jim Bates plucked off 8 for Port Washington. All told, the Tigers had 43 and Purple Riders 26. The Strasburg Reserves (5-1) dusted off the Port Washington Reserves (2-4) 37-33.
