64 - Midvale Buries Killbuck 85-60 (2-1-64)

MIDVALE - Pete Hilliard's Midvale Blue Devils (14-3) routed Killbuck here Saturday night in a make-up game of November 23, canceled because of the death of President Kennedy.  The Blue Devils had little trouble; especially, after intermission as they hiked their halftime lead to 60-44 at the 3rd stop.  DeMattio again was the chief weapon employed by Hilliard, the fine-shooting Senior getting 32 points.  He now has 449 for the season.  Running mate Dan Kohler gave ample support with 23.  Tom Daniels added 10.  Seventeen of DeMattio's points came in the last canto.  Midvale connected on 37 of 71 action shots for 52 percent and swished 11 of 14 foul tries.  Killbuck was 23 of 55 for 42 percent and 14 of 29.  DeMattio and Kohler also were the top board men, the former getting 13 rebounds and the latter 9.  Killbuck's only advantage was 4-2.  Midvale's zone and halfcourt press proved to be very effective.  The Midvale Reserves (8-6) downed the Killbuck Reserves 52-46 to start the night off.
