64 - Dalton Blasts Tusky Valley 88-70 (12-28-63)
DALTON - Tuscarawas Valley (3-5) fell here Saturday night as tough Dalton (6-3) took another decision. The Trojans, coached by 1st year boss Ken Gold, got off to a miserable start and trailed 30-14 at the 1st stop. They came to life somewhat in the 2nd stanza, but still were behind 48-31 at intermission Going into the final frame it was 69-56 in favor of the Bulldogs. Tuscarawas Valley hit on only 27 of 81 action shots for a cool 33 percent and made 16 of 25 charities. Dalton canned 34 of 72 from the floor for a fine 47 percent and sank 20 of 27 free tosses. Paul Shipbaugh, who apparently has found his shooting eye, led the Trojan bid with 22 points. Bob Cappillo added 20 and Dave Widder 12. Elden Gerber of Dalton shared game honors with Shipbaugh. Blake Bach chimed in with 21 and Greg Oswald 18. The Dalton Reserves Jumped all over the Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (1-6) 59-32.
