64 - Tusky Valley Trips Up Gnaden 89-77 (12-13-63)




GNADENHUTTEN - Although never behind, Tuscarawas Valley (2-0) (2-1) had its hands full as the Indians (1-1) (2-3) battled back all the way.  The Trojans just were too accurate in their shooting, sinking 31 of 59 action shots for a sizzling 53 percent and made 27 of 34 free throws.  Gnadenhtten had a good night, making 27 of 57 from the floor for 40 percent and canning 23 of 34 charity flings.  Tuscarawas Valley pulled down 43 rebounds to 35 for Gnadenhutten.  Gary Ferren and Bob Burris were tough on  the boards for the Trojans.  Bruce Kohl did most of the rebounding for the Indians.  Paul Shipbaugh paced the Trojans of Coach Ken Gold to their 2nd victory against a lone defeat with 23 points.  Bob Cappillo added 19, Dave Widder 16, Gary Ferren 14 and Bob Burris 11.  Gene Bates of Gnadenhutten tied Shipbaugh for game honors with 23 points.  Terry Huebner tossed in 19, Bruce Kohl 16 and Larry Rentsch 13.  In the Reserve game, Gnadenhutten (2-0) ran down Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (1-2) 47-35.
