64 - Dennison Upens Tusky Valley 58-51 (12-7-63)

DENNISON - The Dennison High Railroaders (3-0) came from behind here Saturday night to turn back Tuscarawas Valley (1-1).  The Railroaders were down 17-7 at the 1st stop, but went ahead 19-18 at 2:25 of the 2nd stanza and never trailed again.  They led 25-22 at the half and 42-35 after 3 periods.  Teamwork and a pressing defense late in the game played havoc with the Trojans.  Fred Lecce paced the Tom Conner-coached Railroaders with 16 points.  Greg Goodrich added 14, Nick Cummings 12 and Dave Bridgeman 10.  The Ken Gold-coached Trojans were led by big Gary Ferren's 20 markers.  Bob Burris tossed in 12 and Dave Widder 10.  The Railroaders canned 36 percent of their shots in the 1st half and 43 percent in the final 2 quarters.  The Trojans made just 28 percent the 1st half and only 22 percent the second.  The Dennison Reserves began the night by nipping the Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (1-1) 49-48 in triple overtime.
