64 - Down The Line With Dan Kopp

DOVER - The 1963-64 basketball season is just a few weeks old, but already there have been some surprises and "expected" performances.  One of the most surprising things thus far has been the fine play of Stone Creek's Panthers.  Coach Charles Huggins was "supposed" to be hard-pressed for victories as only one veteran returned from a year ago.  But, a quick look at the record book shows the Panthers have marked up 4 victories in 6 outings and need just one more to equal last season's win total.  Another surprise was the Dennison victory over Tuscarawas Valley Saturday.  Along the line of the more "expected" occurrences has been the great showing by the Strasburg Tigers.  Coach Bob Shahan greeted 4 regulars back and they have lived up to all expectations in winning 3 straight.  Following is a breakdown on the leading scorer on each quintet.
