64 - Garaway Walks The Plank Against Stone Creek 59-38 (12-7-63)
SUGARCREEK - Stone Creek (4-2) pulled a mild surprise here Saturday night by turning back Garaway (2-2). The Pirates mustered only 7 percent of their action flings in the initial quarter and ended with 25 percent for the night. From the foul lines they made only 8 of 21. Stone Creek, under first-year Coach Charles Huggins, canned 37 percent from the floor and made 23 of 34 free throws. The Panthers were ahead all the way, leading 15-2 at the 1st stop, 34-9 at the half and 46-20 going into the final frame. John Flinner paced the Panther attack with 21 points. Verle (Curly) Endlich added 15. Don Deetz and Jim Young both had 10 for the Pirates. Pirate Randy Miller was top rebounder with 12. Flinner pulled down 6 to lead the Panthers. The Stone Creek Reserves (4-1) continued their winning ways by pinning the Garaway Reserves (1-2) 35-33.
