NEWCOMERSTOWN - The John Haugh-coached Newcomerstown Trojans (1-0) burst the Stone Creek Panther (2-1) bubble here Friday night.  The Charles Hugginsmen had posted victories in their initial 2 outings of the season.  The Trojans were in their opener.  Hot-shooting Dave Williams paced the Trojans with 23 points.  Keith Stoffer and Randy Osley both tossed in 15 and Dick Simpson 10 as they displayed a well balanced attack.  Verle (Curly) Endlich led the Panthers with 10 markers.  Vic Turner chipped in with 16 and John Flinner 12.  Simpson and Stoffer controlled both boards.  "The  boys did a tremendous job for an opening game," said a very happy Haugh.  "We have some hustlers this year and we had to go all out to win.  Stone Creek has a good ball club."  The Trojans hit on 44 percent of their action shots and the Panthers 33 percent.  Newcomerstown, hoping to continue its fine work started a year ago when it posted its best record in 7 seasons, returns to warfare Tuesday.  The Stone Creek Reserves (3-0) nipped the Newcomerstown Reserves (0-1) 32-30.
