63 - Gnaden Crushes Baltic 15-1 - Tusky Downs Garaway 8-5 (5-16-63)

GNADENHUTTEN - The Gnadenhutten Indians bombed Baltic 15-1 here yesterday in a Tuscarawas County High baseball engagement.  Don Garrett and Jim Jinks shared mound duties for Coach Ted Martin's nine, permitting just 3 hits, walking 4 and striking out 13.  Tim Metzler of Baltic took the loss.  Gary Rice paced the Indians with 2 hits, including a Home Run.  Bruce Kohl had 3 triples and Ray Williams 2 triples and a single.  Meltzler topped the Eagles with 3 singles.

WAINWRIGHT - Tuscarawas High's diamondmen (5-1) kept their league hopes alive here Thursday evening, spanking Garaway 8-5.  The victory was the 5th in league action for Coach Dick Ronald's nine, one less than Strasburg (6-1) which ended activity earlier this week.  Both teams have lost one  league game.  The Broncos trek to Port Washigton tonight, a victory forcing a playoff.  Jeff Maxwell took the victory here yesterday, getting help from Jim Grant in the 6th ining.  The pair gave up just 2 hits, walked 7 and fanned 8.  Milligan was the loser, Wheeler and Stevanus also taking the mound.  The trio was touched for 11 hits, walked 3 and struck out 5.  Fred Burmich, Ivan Summers and Jerry Schupp also had 2 hits for the Broncos.  Geof Stevanus and Tim Young had the only Pirate safeties.
