60 - Visitors' Press Stop Strasburg 68-45 (1-6-60)

STRASBURG - Strasburg (4-5), which gave appearances as one of the "coming" teams in Tuscarawas County cage circles prior to the holiday layoff, was stopped far short in its bid here last night to open the 1960 portion of its schedule with a victory. It fell to the Uhrichsville Tigers (5-1). The loss was attributed by Coach Warren Binder to erratic ball handling and inability to move. Uhrichsville fell behind 17-11 at the end of the first period, but remedied the situation in the second stanza with a full court press. It led 31-27 at halftime and was on top 47-32 at the end of the third period. Strasburg's bad passing resulted in 25 turnovers, while Uhrichsville miscued only 9 times. Uhrichsville also had the upper hand in the shooting department. It took 83 shots from the field and meshed 31 for 37 percent. Strasburg was limited to 49 field attempts, making 16 for 32.6 percent. Strasburg made 13 of 25 from the foul line and Uhrichsville 6 of 14. Tom Davis, Uhrichsville's high-scoring junior, led the victory with 25 points. Gary Robinson counted 17 and Butch Watkins 12. High for Strasburg was Don Grove with 11. Dale Liggett chipped in with 10. The Strasburg Reserves (5-5) dropped the Uhrichsville Reserves 33-24
