Tusky Valley's fast break was working with full steam along with a rugged defense last night. The Trojans (5-0) (9-1) held a narrow 12-10 lead at the end of the first period, but broke the game wide open in the second and third stanzas with 24 points in each, while Midvale (3-2) (6-6) could manage only 13 and 14. TV splurged to a 27-point lead with 6 minutes to play when Ron Lake, Clarence Cantrill and Bruce Ickes all left the game via the 5 foul route. In all, 29 personals were called against the Trojans, as compared with 12 chalked up against the Blue Devils. Midvale took 42 shots from the foul line and made 27 for 55 percent. Tusky Valley took 16 and made 7 for 44 percent. Chief foul maker was Ron Breniser, the Class "A" League's top scorer. He hit 16 for 16. He missed one, but it will never be counted in the record books, since a Trojan player was called for moving into the lane too soon giving the Blue Devil ace the try over again. Breniser ended the night with 28 points for scoring laurels and turned in a splendid job in drawing the Trojans into committing fouls. Teammate Ron Kaderly hit 10 points. Cantrill, before bowing out, scored 18 points in a balanced attack by the Trojans which saw 3 others end in double figures. Jim Studer was right behind with 16 and Ickes and Lake caged 11 apiece. Tusky Valley had a top night from the field, making 31 of 71 attempts for 44 percent. Midvale made only 13 of 39 for 33 percent. The Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (5-4) blasted the Midvale Reserves (5-8) 39-29.
