BOLIVAR - Tuscarawas Valley (14-3) set back any "comeback" plans the Newcomerstown Trojans (0-15) had here last night. Coach Bob Heller cleared the bench as his charges walzed past the visitors. Tusky Valley was never headed. The Trojans started the night with a 24-point first period outburst, and at the same time limited Newcomerstown to 4 points. With Heller subbing freely it was not quite so bad the final 3 quarters as Tucarawas Valley outscored the invaders 18-6 in the second period, 19-18 in the third and 22-16 in the windup. Clarence Cantrill scored 23 points to lead the victorious attack. Sub Ed Lundenberger took runner-up honors with 14 and Ron Lake added 12. TV made 36 of 71 for 51 percent from the field and Newcomerstown connected on 20 of 48 for 43 percent. The victors added 11 shots in 22 tries from the foul line and Newcomerstown made 13 of 30. The Tuscarawas Valley Reservers (9-7) slammed the Newcomerstown Reserves 37-20.
