60 - TV Drops Defending Champs Garaway 5-1 (4-13-60)

BOLIVAR - Tuscarawas Valley's Trojans (2-0) rolled along in high style in the county's baseball ranks yesterday.  They came up with their second win in as many days, defeating defending county champion Garaway (0-1).  It was Garaway's initial outing.  The Trojans took advantage of Garaway hurler Charles Stingel's wildness by plating one run in the opening inning and 4 more in the second.  Stingel (0-1), who limited the Trojans to 2 singles, both by Mike Widder, issued 4 free passes in the first inning, walking in a run.  In the second Tusky Valley put together 3 walks, an error and single by Widder for its 4 tallies.  Clarence Cantrill went the distance for the Trojans, permitting 3 hits, including doubles by Bud Yakley and Stingel.  He walked only 3 and struck out 8.  In the sixth inning Stingel doubled home Dan Bleininger for the Pirates' lone run.  Stingel struck out 4 Trojans and totaled 7 walks.  Tusky Valley will return in action tomorrow when it entertains Baltic.  Gnadenhutten will be at Garaway.
