60 - TV Scores 2 Runs In The 7th In Win Over Strasburg (4-12-60)
BOLIVAR - Tuscarawas Valley (1-0) had to go an extra inning yesterday to deteat Strasburg (0-1) 4-3 in the season baseball opener for both schools. Jim Studer led off the final frame with a long triple. He scored on a long fly by Clarence Cantgrill to give the Trojans the victory. Mike Widder (1-0) went the distance for the victory. He struck out 7, walked 3 and permitted 4 hits. Toiling for the Tigers was Jim Clymer (0-1), who struck out 11 and walked 3. He was touched for 5 hits, including a double by Al Cerett and Studer's triple. Bill Seese (0-0) also saw mound action for the Bengals. Tuscarawas Valley also scored a run in the fourth and 2 in the 7th, while Strasburg counted markers in the first and fourth innings. Tusky Valley faces Garaway today.
