60 - Baltic Hits A Wall In 72-52 Loss (1-23-60)

A well-balanced attack that had 3 men in double figures was all Tuscarawas (3-2) (7-5) needed to dispose of one of the county's hottest cage combines last night at Tusky. Baltic (2-4) (9-7) went into the contest as winner of 6 of its last 7 games, whileTuscarawas had lost 5 of its last 7 games. Tusky led 18-14 at the first stop and then moved out to a 37-29 halftime advantage. The Broncos were in front 53-42 going into the final canto. Gary Caviness led the victors with 26 points, while Phil Meese hit 15 and Bill Johnson 13. John Rice led the losers with 16 and Larry Lautenschleger chimed in with 14. High-scoring Gary Gerber saw little action as the result of a recurring pulled muscle. Caviness and Bill Johnson were both commended for their all around play. In the prelim, Tusky's Reserves (12-0) remained undefeated, on a 39-20 triumph over the Baltic Reserves (13-3).
