SUGARCREEK - Garaway's Pirates (15-1) had little trouble in picking up their 15th victory last night. They defeated Tuscarawas County rival Gnadenhutten (9-8) in a non-league contest. The Pirates are now pointing to avenging the lone defeat on their slate. They will entertain Hiland, a narrow 60-56 victor December 19, next Tuesday night. As Garaway coach Jim Stull explained it, "They had trouble going on the move and so did we. It probably wasn't a real good game for the spectators." His statement showed up in the scoring column, where both Charles Stingel and Koran Zehnder hit below par. They each connected for 12 points, as did teammates Bob Raber and Tom Andreas. Gary Dichler paced the Indians, who had dropped a 71-51 decision to the Pirates earlier this season with 13 points. Ron Clark followed with 11 and John Hall and Ray Rank ended with 10 apiece. The Garaway Reserves (11-4) stopped the Gnaden Reserves (5-7) 38-31.
