BALTIC - Baltic (5-5) has its sights set on going over the .500 mark the first time this season tomorrow night when it entertains Coshocton County's Warsaw. The Eagles evened their season record at here Saturday night when they tripped another Coshocton County foe, West Lafayette, 73-62. A fourth period drive, resulting in 24 points brought home "the bacon" against the Generals. Falling behind 17-14, 34-30 and 50-49 at the end of each of the first three periods, Coach Jim Weinsz' charges went for broke in that final period and turned the tide for the victory. Veteran John Rice, who was set up for easy layup shots by the sharp passing of guards Dave Berger and Gary Mast, turned in his highest scoring performance of the season, ending the night with 34 points. He also paced the Eagles under the boards, teaming with Bob Ladrach to pull down 15 and 12, respectively, from the taller invaders. Teamwise, rebounding also played a big role as the Eagles grabbed off 22 from the offensive boards as compared with the Generals' 5. Baltic had a 21-16 edge defensively. Baltic meshed 28 of 63 shots from the field for 44 percent, while the Generals had a 39 percent mark when it made 22 of 56. Bill Shrimplin led the Generals with 17 points and Larry Hendricks added 15. Berger was the only other Eagle to score in double figures and he tallied 10. Baltic's Reserves (9-1) won 39-26 over the West Lafayette Reserves.
