60 - Gnaden Pins 10-3 Defeat On Port (4-22-60)

NEWCOMERSTOWN - Gnadenhutten (2-1) (3-1) had its hitting clothes on yesterday as the Indians belted Port Washington (1-2) in a county league game played at Newcomerstown. Gary Conaway (1-0) took the win, fanning 9 and walking 4 before Ron Clark (0-0) took over the Gnadenhutten pitching duties in the sixth. John Landon (1-2) started for Port and shared the hill with Jim Bender (0-0). The Indians scored in every inning, but the first as they banged out 11 hits and had only one error. Port collected 7 hits, but had 6 miscues. Jim McCreery had 4 hits in as many trips for the victors and Clark blasted a triple. Jim Hannahs and Bender had two singles for Coach Dick King's crew and Curt Johns had a triple.
