LEESVILLE - The neighboring schools of Conotton Valley (11-1) and Midvale (8-7) hooked up in battle last night, but the home team Rockets continued their orbiting by making the Blue Devils their lastest victim. Conotton blasted off to a 15-12 first quarter advantage and was never headed as it posted 35-27 and 59-40 leads en route to victory over Coach Pete Hilliard's Midvale combine. The fast-stepping Rockets have lost only a 76-69 decision to the Tuscasrawas Valley Trojans this year, while posting winning streaks of 6 and 5 games. Each team had 4 men in double figures. Larry Dunlap led the Rockets with 21 points, while Lanty Smith, back at full strength after an ankle injury, collected 28 rebounds and 16 points. Jack Copeland hit 14 and Larry Allen 13 for the victors. High-scoringRon Breniser was "held" to 13 points for Midvale. He shared laurels for the Devils with sophomore Roger Swinderman. Ron Kaderly and Neil Beans each conributed 12. The Midvale Reserves (7-9) raked the Conotton Valley Reserves by a scored of 44-30.
