After a see-saw match at Port Washington the Midvale Blue Devils (6-2) (11-7) finally escaped with a 1-point victory margin. The Blue Devils warded off several threats in the final period by the Riders (1-7) (9-11), who had led 14-11 at the end of the first period and 46-44 at the third stop. Midvale had a 35-33 lead at halftime. Ron Breniser led the Devils with 24 points for the night's scoring laurels. Ron Kaderly added 15 and Neil Beans 12. The Purple Riders were paced by Jim Bender's 22 marks. Larry Hegan and John Landon scored 15 and 12 points, respectively. Both teams closed out their season last night, with Port Washington recording one of their finest in recent years. Midvale Reserves (8-10) topped Port Washington Reserves (8-12) 36-30.
