UHRICHSVILLE - Tuscarawas Valley (10-3), which had lost only twice to Garaway in 12 previous contests, had its record blemished by a second team last night, losing to the Uhrichsville Tigers (8-3). It extended the Uhrichsville record and marked the first time the Tigers have been able to top Coach Bob Heller's chargers. Tuscarawas Valley moved into a 32-28 halftime lead after falling behind 17-11 at the end of the first period. The Trojans maintained the margin in the third stanza as each team scored 8 points. But, a fourth period drive by the Tigers, resulting in 24 points as compared to the Trojans' 12, brought in the victory. With 4:20 to play Uhrichsville went ahead 44-42 and retained the driver's seat the remainder of the way. Uhrichsville's George Newton was the leading scorer, connecting for 19 points. High for the Trojans was Clarence Cantrill with 15. Ronnie Lake and Al Cerett added 10 and 11, respectively, for the Trojans, while Tom Davis hit 13 and Gary Robinson meshed 12 for the Tigers. Uhrichsville made 25 of 56 from the field for 45 percent. TV had its poorest night of the season from the floor, making only 21 of 62 for 34 percent. Tusky Valley made 10 of 22 from the foul line and Uhrichsville 10 of 21. Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (7-5) just edged the Uhrichsville Reserves in overtime 29-28.
