PORT WASHINGTON - The Gnadenhutten Indians (6-4) pulled one out of the fire here last night, defeating the Purple Riders (5-6). Down 15 points at halftime, Coach Bob Gaume's quintet, sparked by Ron Clark, came back to take the decision. The Tribe tallied 28 points in the third period to knot the count 51-51. They tallied 19 points to the losers 16 in the final chapter. Clark tied Ray Rank for Gnaden scoring laurels as both tallied 20 points, while John Hall contributed 16. The night's honors went to Jim Bender of the losers who tallied 25 markers. In the last half, Gnaden also sunk 19 of 20 fouls, while Port made 17 of 25 for the night. The Gnaden Reserves (4-5) were winners by besting the Port Reserves (4-7) 42-31. The Gnadenhutten Junior High team rolled over the Port Washington Junior High team (3-4) 40-27.
