60 - Garaway Rolls Over Midvale 11-3 (4-21-60)


SUGARCREEK - Garaway (3-1) let loose with a 14-hit barrage and defeated Midvale (1-2) yesterday at Community Park.  The Pirates scored in every inning except the third, counting 3 runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings.  Bud Yakley's 2 homer blasts led the victors at the plate.  Bob Raber (1-0), who was on the mound, aided his own cause with a double and 2 singles, while Charles Stingel and Koran Zehnder had 3 singles apiece.  Raber struck out 8, walked 3 and permitted 5 hits to the Blue Devils.  Neil Beans (1-1) started for Midvale and was relieved by Albaugh (0-0).  They combined for 6 strikeouts and 4 walks.  Leading the Devils at the plate was Rennicker with a triple and single and Byers with a double and single.
