60 - Bleininger 1-Hits Strasburg 14-0 (4 19-60)
SUGARCREEK - Southpaw Dan Bleininger (2-0) of Garaway (2-1) came within a hair of chalking up a perfect game yesterday at Community Park. He limited Strasburg's Tigers (1-2) to 1 hit, an infield scratch beat out by Robert Hall with one out in the 7th inning, and walked only one other player. His mates provided a welcomed "cushion." Bleininger received able support from his teammates who let lose with a 12-hit attack in chalking up the Pirates' second win in 4 starts. He aided his own cause with 2 hits including a triple. Charles Stingel laced a double and 2 singles, while Tom Andreas counted a double and Bob Raber 2 singles. Jim Clymer (0-2) and Bill Seese (0-0) toiled for Strasburg, striking out 7 and walking 11.
