GNADENHUTTEN - Tempers flared, windows were broken and the Gnadenhutten Indians (8-4) handed the Tuscarawas Broncos (5-5) a setback here last night. Gnaden, behind 12-11 at the first stop, went ahead 27-24 at halftime, but fell to the also-ran role 39-38 at the end of the third period. TheIndians, after tying the score 49-49 with 53 seconds remaining to play went ahead for keeps. John Hall drilled in a fielder for a 51-49 lead and then stepped to the foul line when Tuscarawas' Dean Kerns was given a technical foul for not reporting. Bronco Coach Kermit Smulbach protested and officials tagged him with a technical. Shortly after Chip McCahill was assessed with a pair of technicals. Hall paced the victorious attack with 23 points, while Ron Clark connected for 16. Gary Caviness led the Broncos with 20 and McCahill potted 13 before fouling out with 20 seconds to play. Gnaden avenges an earlier 59-48 setback at the hands of the Broncos. School officials at Gnaden said after the game windows had been broken. The Gnaden Reserves (5-6) lost their game over the Tuscarawas Reserves (10-0) 44-43.
