60 - Tuscarawas County Class "A" Basketball League Standings (2-6-60)

Hey Mister! Don't look now, but the Tuscarawas County Class "A" League race is far from being over. Maybe for the coaches-yes! They conducted drawings for the County Class tournament this morning in Superintendent W. E. Laws' office here, but for the fans - nope! One more week of thrill-packed action is still on the docket. Both league leader Garaway, which won a non-league 57-46 victory over Gnadenhutten last night and second place Tusky Valley, which defeated Tuscarawas 60-54 in league action to keep its hopes alive for a co-championship, have to step up once more and take their cuts. The Pirates will encounter a fine Tuscarawas team on the Broncos' small court next Friday and it might be just the thing that would buck the Pirates off their "high horse" and provide the opening for TV. The Trojans, on the other hand, will be in equally hot water. They will be at Baltic for their finale. Last night the Eagles soared past Stone Creek 61-55 in the league windup for the Panthers. Strasburg wrote finis to its league season by defeating Port Washington 70-33. The Purple Riders will entertain Midvale next week in the other league game. The Blue Devils are the defending champs and despite a not-too-good overall record of 10-7 have a chance for a second place tie, should Tusky Valley lose to Baltic.
