The Baltic-Stone Creek game was the only one that went "according to Hoyle" during last night's activity. One of the big reasons might have been the return of Baltic's Gary Gerber to starting status. The Eagle ace suffered a fractured right leg over a month ago. Despite the leg being heavily bandaged he moved better than many players not in the same predicament. It was a good omen for the Eagles for he scored 16 points to take runner-up honors behind teammate John Rice, who tallied 18 points. Stone Creek, except for the early moments, was never in contention. Baltic moved to a 21-10 lead at the end of the first period and held 33-24 and 46-35 leads at the next stops. Larry Lorenz was high point man for the Panthers with 20 points. Merle Degen connected for 12. It was the third victory for Baltic over Stone Creek this season. In regular play it had scored 67-45 and 61-55 triumphs. The Eagles were a solid shooting, smooth moving unit in the victory. They made 25 of 54 from the floor for 48.1 percent and 12 of 22 free throws. Stone Creek made 18 of 41 shots from the field for 41.4 percent. It added 13 of 20 foul shots.
