Coach Dick King's Purple Riders (1-5) (8-8) combine had it's record evened again thanks to the Tuscarawas Broncos (4-2) (8-5). The Purple Riders, who played the game with 2 boys "a little under the weather" because of the flu, gave Coach Kermit Smulbach's club a battle in the first period as the score ended 12-12, but the invaders took the lead in the second stanza and were never headed. Jim Bender's 21 points led all scorers for the night, while Larry Hagan hit 11 for the Purple Riders, while Chester Summers paced the Tusky quintet with 18, while 3 others hit double figures. That included Gary Caviness 17, Pete Meese and Chip McCahill 14 each. The unbeaten Tuscarawas Reserves (13-0) left the court with yet another win over the Port Washington Reserves (6-10) 48-36. Tuscarawas won the Junior High game over Port Washington (4-5) 24-18.
