60 - Another No-Hitter Against Stone Creek 15-0 (4-21-60)
STONE CREEK - The second No-Hit performance in as many days in the county baseball league was recorded yesterday -- and against the same team. Dave Struchen (1-0), lanky Gnadenhutten Sophomore was the latest to turn the trick as he fashioned the near-perfect performance over the Stone Creek Panthers (0-3) who only Tuseday went hitless against Port Washington's John Landon. Struchen fanned 13 and allowed but 2 walks in posting the win as Gnadenhutten (1-1) (2-1) took another victory. The Indians played errorless ball, but Stone Creek committed 10 miscues in their fourth straight loss. Stone Creek began this year's action without a single letterman back in the fold after losing every start last season. Dick Shull collected the only extra base blow in Gnaden's 5-hit attack, with a double, Jack Eickleberry and Ed Wallace shared mound duties for Stone Creek. They allowed 11 walks and failed to snare a strikeout.
