Stone Creek (0-5) (0-13) gave Strasburg (3-2) (5-7) all it could handle for 8 minutes when the first period ended 9-9. But Coach Ernie Lukens' chargers fell to the also-ran list in the second period when his starting 5 lost pep and the Tigers, sporting a superior height advantage, raced to a 26-10 halftime margin. The Tigers turned the game into a rout in the third quarter, scoring 27 points, while limiting the Panthers to 3. Lukens inserted a lineup comprised entirely of freshmen and sophomores for the last 14 minutes of play and they turned in a hustling performance. tghe lineup, which is the bsis of future Panther fortunes, was comprised of Larry Lorenz, Larry Stephon, Jim Billman, Ed Wallace and Cliff Endlich. They came through with 22 points in the final stanza, equal to the Panthers' performance over the first 3 periods. Frank Wallick, Strasburg's high scorer, staked a claim on the backboards early and came through with a fabulous total of 41 rebounds in one of the finest performances exhibited by a county cager. He nabbed scoring laurels with 23 points. Teammates Don Grove and Walt Krantz added 13 and 11, respectively. Pacing the Panthers was Lorenz with 19 and Stephon with 12. Strasburg took shots nearly at will against the smaller hosts. In all it fired 97 at the hoops and connected on 31 for 22.1 percent. Stone Creek attempted 46 and made 15 for 32.6 percent. The Strasburg Reserves (6-6) also won by crushing the Stone Creek Reserves (1-10) 38-16.
