60 - TV Wins On "Senior Night" 91-60 (1-23-60)

Tuscarawas Valley (4-1) (10-2) celebrated "Senior Night" in a big way. Coach Bob Heller started an all-Senior five. There are 6 on the team and regular Bruce Ickes was relegated to the bench at the beginning of the contest. In fact, Heller never used his regular starting unit together until 5 minutes remained in the final period. Everyone got into action and with the exception of Rod Cropper, scored. Regular Clarence Cantrill, a Senior, paced the scoring with 18 points. Ed Lundenberger meshed 16, and Ickes and Paul Davidson had 11 apiece. The Trojans chalked up quarter margins of 21-5, 43-24 and 64-46. Merle Degen led the Panthers (0-6) (0-14) with 19 points. Gale Sauser added 15, Larry Stephon 14 and Larry Lorenz 11. TV made 32 of 82 from the field for 40 percent and the Panthers 12 of 38 for 33 percent. The Trojans connected 25 times in 33 attempts from the foul line and Stone Creek made 36 of 52. The TV Reserves (6-5) also had a great night by stopping the Stone Creek Reserves (32-19. The Stone Creek Junior High team just edged the Tusky Valley Junior High team 35-34.
