60 - Tuscarawas County Class "A" Scoring (2-4-60)

The Broncos of Tuscarawas have suddenly loomed into the spotlight as the key in the 1960 Tuscarawas County Class "A" League championship race. Winner in 4 of 6 league outings and 9 of 14 games overall, the Broncos will present a formidable task for the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans tomorrow night on the latter's court. TV musst win to keep its hopes alive for a portion of the title. Garaway is the current leader with a 7-0 mark, but is idle in loop play this week. Tusky, even if it loses to the Trojans, still has the key. It will hold a home court advantage when it entertains Garaway a week from tomorrow night in the final league tussle for both teams. Only 2 other league games are on tap tomorrow night. Port Washington (1-5) is at Strasburg (3-4) and Stone Creek (0-7) is at Baltic (2-4). Koran Zehnder, with a 38-point outburst against Stone Creek last week, pulled within 4 points of league point leader Ron Breniser of Midvale in this week's race. Breniser has scored 167 points, an average of 23.9 per game. Zehnder, who was 25 behind a week ago, now has 163 and an average of 23.3 points per outing. The battle for the point title is expected to go right down to the wire. Gary Caviness of Tuscarawas still is in the running. He has 132 points with 2 more games to play.
